About Robin’s Nest

You've got to dance like there's nobody watching, Love like you'll never be hurt, Sing like there's nobody listening, And live like it's heaven on earth.

Welcome to the Nest

Welcome to the Nest!

Robin's Nest Fiber Arts is a small, family-run business that I originally founded in Ketchikan, Alaska.

The business was born in 2015 out of my love for knitting and the beautiful colors of the Alaskan landscape. At the time, I was working at a local yarn store and received so many requests for hand-dyed yarn that I decided to take the leap. By April 2016, Robin's Nest Fiber Arts sold its very first skein.

I started small with my daughter, Caitybug. She has always been my biggest helper—taking photos around Ketchikan and finding dyeing inspiration in nature, Disney, books, and all our favorite things.

In 2018, I became part-owner of the yarn store where I worked, changing the name from The Hive on the Creek to Fabulous Fiber Arts. This experience deepened my love for the industry. Over the years, I expanded my own dyeing business to include patterns, Doodle Kits, our Alaska-themed Sock & Accessory Club, and Book-Themed Club Boxes.

In December 2022, we sold the store and left Alaska to relocate our family to the Lower 48. In 2024, my husband Blaine officially joined the team, making Robin's Nest Fiber Arts a truly family-owned and operated business. Whenever you open a package from us, know that it was Blaine and I who lovingly packed your order!

I love my team, and I hope you enjoy the yarn we have created for you. Thank you for taking the time to learn more about us.

Beyond the Dye Pots

I am a happily married mom of six children: my four boys—Chris, Aaron, Leo (Austin), and Adrian—my daughter Caitlynn, and my beautiful bonus daughter, Angelina. I am also a proud 'Mema' to four 'GrandSquirrels,' Tristen, Ivy, Maylene, and Kylan, who truly are my world. 💖

Since leaving Ketchikan in 2022, I’ve had the joy of branching out into new creative avenues. I began test knitting for other designers, which has been an incredible learning experience. In 2024, I was honored to be chosen as a sample knitter for Pacific Knit Co. and Yarnaceous Fibers, allowing me to combine my technical skills with my love for beautiful fibers.

When I’m not hand-dyeing yarn or designing new patterns, you can usually find me in my happy place: curled up with a good book, cooking for my family, or enjoying a movie night with the people I love most.
